USA Cycling just announced their final lineup for the Olympics in Rio. Kristin Armstrong and Evelyn Steven will be competing in the women’s time trial. Mara Abbott and Megan Guarnier will round our the group of four women for the road race. On the men’s side, Taylor Phinney and Brent Bookwalter will compete in both the road race and time trial.

The 2016 Olympic Games will run Aug. 5-21 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Click here for the full Olympic competition schedule.

Brent Bookwalter

Born in 1984, Brent Bookwalter is a New Mexico native about to start his 11th season riding for the BMC racing team. He has competed regularly at all major races, most recently placing 2nd in the USA Pro Cycling Challenge and 3rd in the Tour of California.

Taylor Phinney

Born in 1990, Taylor Phinney rides for UCI ProTeam and BMC Racing Team. He specializes in time trials and one day classics, as well as competes individually on the track. Most recently, he placed 1st at the World Team Trial Championships, 1st in the USA Pro Cycling Challenge, and 1st at the National Time Trial Championships.

Evelyn Stevens

Born in 1983, Evelyn Stevens rides for Boels-Dolmans. In February 2016, she rode the current UCI Hour record for women with a distance of 47.980 km (broke record by 1.1 km). Before becoming a professional cyclist, she worked at Lehman Brothers and another well known investment fund.

Megan Guarnier

Born in 1985, Megan is a cyclist riding for Boels-Dolmans. This year she placed 1st overall in the Tour of California and 1st at the National Road Race Championships.

Mara Abbott

Born in 1985, Mara Abbott rides for the Wiggle High5 team. She was the first American ever to win the Giro. Recently she placed 2nd overall at the Giro d’Italia and 1st overall at the Tour of the Gila.

Kristin Armstrong

The veteran of the group, Armstrong won time trials gold at both the 2012 olympic games in London and the 2008 olympics in Beijing. More recently, she placed 2nd overall in the Tour of California and 1st at the US National Time Trial Championships
