Since When Are Eggs Vegetarian?
Emily Christensen Barker
Some paleo eat potatoes and others don't, but I thought eggs were vegetarian but not vegan

I wish we could go back and review questions after finishing quizzes. I'd like to take another look at the question that I think suggested potatoes aren't a good source of potassium.

I agree but I think eggs have been tricky. Technically they aren't vegetarian. I've been vegetarian my whole life and called myself such even though I ate eggs. I knew other people who ate cakes and other food which were made of eggs -- even in India where there are far more strict rules about it. Now that there are more labels (vegan, lacto-vegetarian etc etc) I think it's easier to define your diet.

There are different types of vegetarians. If you eat eggs you are ovo-vegetarian. Commonly Lacto-ovo-vegetarian which would be vegetarians who eat eggs and milk products.

They should have specified ovo-vegetarians. Just sayin'.

Since never. Some people aren't strict vegetarians.

Since always. My understanding is that although eggs and dairy aren't vegan, since they don't have a face, they are vegetarian.

Technically eggs are not a meat, which is usually the definition of a vegetarian, someone who does not eat meat. Vegan adds that won't eat any animal byproducts like eggs or milk.
