Moderate exercise daily. Move even if they hurt a little first thing in the morning. Motion loosens joints.

If you have to squat all the way down for some reason, try to roll back onto your heels as you stand, even if you are using a prop to help you back up. Just like squats in exercising, it's important to try to keep the knees behind the toes.
